Whenever I get a shot or something nurses always compliment the veins in my arms. When I was younger I was mesmerized by how much my father’s veins protruded from his hands… Hands that taught me how to shoot a basketball… Hands that showed me how to write neatly… Hands that held books for me to read… Hands that protected me and my sister… To me it’s a sign of strength and vitality. I see mine and can’t help but wonder if I’m capable of the same things.

I’m only on my eleventh frame. It makes me much more judicious and I calculate my shots more than I do shooting digital. Hopefully when I finally develop the photos are well composed.
One thing I like about shooting film is the shutter on the camera. You can hear that it’s all mechanical and it seems more intimate. I don’t know. Hopefully I get through my first roll tomorrow since there’s a lot going on.
